For the first time ‘Old Kate’ the City’s Curfew Bell cast in 1585 tolled 11 times at 11 o’clock to mark the start the City’s 2 minutes silence at the City War Memorial during the Civic & City Act of Remembrance.
Old Kate hangs in St Benedict’s Church which stands immediately behind the City War Memorial.
This performance is linked to the event Ringing for the Centenary of the WWI Armistice
