Lance Corporal Fred Whitfield: born Dantzig, Grunberg, Germany; served in 5th Bn. Sherwood Foresters, died 11th September 1918 (aged 21) on The Somme; awarded the Military Medal; buried in Carvan Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

Private Alfred Johnson of Swanage, Dorset: born Bishops Caundle, Dorset; served in 1st Bn. East Kent Regiment ("The Buffs"), died 25th October 1918 (aged 18) near St. Souplet, France; buried in St. Souplet British Cemetery.

We will remember them.
