In memoriam Corporal Shoeing Smith Frederick Strutt, of the South Notts Hussars and, later, the 1st Dorset Yeomanry of this village, who died 100 years ago on this date in WW1 aged 25. He died of typhoid fever and is buried in Cairo War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
