In memory of Gunner John Rogers, Thrapston, Central Northants. Died 13/10/1918 age 24. Royal Field Artillery 75th Bde. Service No.891544. Commemorated at Delsaux Farm Cemetery, Beugny, France, Grave I E 21. Born 1894. Son of Elizabeth Clark of Swineshead, Bedfordshire. He appears to have moved to Thrapston in 1912 and possibly lived with his Uncle, John Coleman, of Market Road, Thrapston. He served in Mesopotamia and then in France. He was wounded in his back when servicing the guns and died of these wounds shortly afterwards. He is remembered on War Memorials at both Yelden and Thrapston. Born: Yelden, Bedfordshire. Enlisted: Thrapston, Northants, on 09/11/1915. Resided: Yelden, Bedfordshire in 1911, but later in Thrapston.
