Specially arranged and rung for Joan Simpson (aged 86) during Eastern Branch quarter peal week.
Joan wanted to ring a quarter peal this year to celebrate her being awarded a B.E.M. (British Empire Medal) in the 2018 New Year’s Honours List for services to the community of Coningsby (which includes her bell ringing & fundraising)!
She received her B.E.M. at a special ceremony at Coningsby Church earlier in May before attending a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. She was also presented to H.R.H. Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, when he visited Tattershall Church earlier this year in March.
WELL DONE JOAN! A most deserved award acknowledging all your hard work and commitment to the local community!
We chose to ring the quarter here with the bells being nice and light and easy going for Joan.
The band wish to associate Annie Hardwick with this quarter along with all the Coningsby & Tattershall Ringers.
