Rung half muffled in memory of Frederick Blackwell who died this day in 1918. Frederick enlisted with the Royal Engineers, was transferred to be a Private with the Hampshire Regiment and re-transferred to be a Sapper with the 447th Field Company. Reported missing on 27th May 1918, he died of wounds, aged 40, on 9th October whilst a PoW in hospital in Worms, Germany.
