Rung in memory of Private Thomas George Taylor, Batheaston, Bath & Wells Diocesan Association and Whitchurch Canonicorum, Salisbury Diocesan Guild. Died 11/09/1918 age 28. Welsh Guards 1st Bn. Service No.3851. Commemorated at Moeuvres Communal Cemetery Extension, France, Grave V B 24. Born 3rd quarter 1890. One of seven children; six surviving at the 1911 census. Son of John Greening Taylor and Mary Annie Isabella Taylor (née Merrick). At the time of the 1911 census, he was working as a carter on a farm. He rang his first peal, the tenor to Grandsire Doubles, at Batheaston, on 04/06/1907, which was conducted by his father, John G. Taylor. He continued to ring after his move to Dorset and is remembered on the Salisbury Diocesan Guild Roll of Honour as a Whitchurch Canonicorum ringer. Born: Kempsey, Worcestershire.
