Extract from Rothbury Society of Bell Ringers record book 17 April 1893
"All being complete on Easter Monday, as was arranged by the Bell Founders Mears and Stainbank, the Bishop consented to perform the service of Dedication. There was a crowded congregation and much interest was taken in the whole proceedings. The bells were rung at the service and afterwards by chosen members of the Northumberland and Durham Diocesan Association of Ringers, their President Mr R S Storey being with them. Miss Dawson invited the Association to do this, kindly inviting them all to the lunch which she provided before the service also bearing all their travelling and other expenses. This lunch was provided at her expense in the Queens Head Hotel, the Rector presiding was supported by Miss Dawson, Lord Armstrong, Mr Medd and Mr Watson Armstrong. The same lady in the evening provided an excellent supper at the Queens Head for the members of the Home Association which will long be remembered by those so thoughtfully invited. Very hearty votes of thanks for all she had done were proposed to Miss Dawson at both meetings"
