Rung in memory of Lance Corporal John Arthur Boote, London Regiment, Royal Fusiliers who was killed in action on 25th August 1918 near Arras, France and is now buried at Gommecourt Wood New Cemetery. He was a ringer at St Mary’s Hornsey, Middlesex. The bells at St George in the East were said to be cast from the metal of the old Hornsey bells hence the commemorative ringing here today.
