Rung half-muffled in memory of Francis "Ferrers" Morrat of this Parish who died of wounds received in action on this day in 1918, aged 21. Educated at Felsted School he received his commission in August 1914 at the age of 17 joining the Middlesex Regiment. He went to France in June 1916 and was attached to the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry. Invalided back to England in December of that year he returned to France in December 1917 and was serving with the 6th Battalion Middlesex Regiment at the time of his death. He is buried at the Bienvillers Military Cemetery.
