Born in Aberllynfi in the fourth quarter of 1899, son of Rhys Jones and Elizabeth Jones, and one of five children, all of whom were surviving at the 1911 census when he was at school. Enlisted: Brecon. Resided: Aberllynfi, Glasbury. A memorial peal of Doubles with three covering tenors was rung at this church on 04/01/1920 for Private Jones and two other fallen Glasbury servicemen ringers.
