Half-muffled in memory of Private John Thomas Taylor, a ringer at this tower, died 15/04/1918 age 25. York and Lancaster Regiment 1st/5th Bn. Service No.12/1300. Commemorated at Le Grand Beaumart British Cemetery, Steenwerck, France, Grave Special Memorial II B 13. He is known to be buried in this cemetery, but the exact location of his grave is not certain.
