Rung Half Muffled to commemorate the sacrifice on the centenary of his death; Private James Samuel Mann, Leominster, Hereford Diocesan. Died 30/03/1918 age 24. Machine Gun Corps 3rd Bn. Service No.139513. Commemorated at Etaples Military Cemetery, France, Grave XXXIII A 6. Born 3rd quarter 1893. One of twelve children; eleven surviving at the 1911 census. Son of William Henry Mann and Eliza Ann Mann of 51 West Street, Leominster. At the time of the 1911 census he was working as a carpenter, following in his father’s footsteps. Born: Leominster. Enlisted: Leominster, initially in the Shropshire Light Infantry, Service No.19796. Resided (1911 Census): 51 West Street, Leominster.
