LEST WE FORGET – ‘Their Name Liveth For Evermore’
Rung by the local band with the bells half muffled to mark the centenary of the death’s of:
Lance Corporal CHARLES ARTHUR HOTCHEN who served in the 7th Battalion of the Northamptonshire Regiment, who was killed in action on 25th September 1915 aged 26 at Loos in France.
Corporal HERBERT INGLEBY who served in the 1st Battalion of the Grenadier Guards, who was killed in action on 25th September 1915 aged 35 at the Somme in France.
Private FREDERICK MOODY who served in the 8th Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment, who was killed in action on 26th September 1915 aged 35 at Loos in France.
They were the fifth, sixth & seventh Potterhanworth residents/natives to be killed during the Great War.
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.
Honourable age does not depend on length of days, nor is the number of years a true measure of life.
