Rung to commemorate the life of Walter William Henry Stanford, 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action Sunday 28 February 1915. Age 28. Born Woburn. Enlisted Ampthill. Son of Mr and Mrs W Stanford of 11 Birchmoor Green, Woburn. Commemorated Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Ieper, West Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 8 & 12, and on Woburn war memorial.
