Rung in memory of Charles Edward (Ted) Woodcock, Uncle of the conductor, who passed away earlier this year and whose birthday would have been last week.
Ted’s ashes were scattered on the Golf Course here at Blankney which he so loved and where he spent so many happy hours!
Ted was a Vice President of Blankney Golf Club as well as being the longest serving General Club Secretary 1970 – 1988, a Past Club Captain 1968 and a former County President of the Lincolnshire Golf Union 1995-1996 the highest honour, something he was immensely proud of. Ted was also the first Club Champion at Blankney in 1974, and also won the Lincolnshire Senior Championships in succession from 1989 to 1993 at 5 different courses, and won a sixth in 2000 at yet another course, a feat not matched. Ted joined Blankney Golf Club in 1962 being a member for 55 years. Blankney was Ted’s second home, he loved the course and club and had many happy memories.
