For Evensong

To commemorate the life of Corporal George Dunbar Acton, Ludlow, Hereford Docesan, who died 100 years ago on the 15th August 1917, age 23, at the Battle of Hill 70 on the outskirts of Lens. George was a Ludlow ringer who resided in Old Street Ludlow, emigrated to East Brockville, Ontario, Canada in 1913. He joined the Canadian Army as was killed on the 15/08/1917.
