Bells rung half-muffled to commemorate the centenary of the death during the Great War of Leading Seaman George William Stringer, who was killed in action on HM Submarine C34 Royal Navy off the Shetland Islands on 21st July 1917, age 24.
He was the third of the three Burgess Hill band members who lost their lives in 1917.
Members of George's family listened to this quarter peal.
