In memory of Private Frederick George Dewell, Bury St Edmunds, Died 31/05/1917 age 25. Middlesex Regiment 16th Bn. Service No.TF/205169.

Commemorated at Arras Memorial, France, Bay 7.

Born 1st quarter 1892. Son of Walter and Jane Elizabeth Dewell (nee Gooch) of 68 Eastgate Street, Bury St Edmunds

He worked as a domestic gardener before enlisting.

Born: Bury St. Edmunds. Enlisted: Bury St Edmunds. Resided (1911 census): 68 Eastgate Street, Bury St Edmunds.

He rang in a peal at Horringer on 12 April 1913 where the conductor of today's quarter peal learnt to ring 50 years ago.
