"Private Alwyn Frederick Green, Toddington, Worcestershire. Died 08/05/1917 age 23 or 24. Gloucestershire Regiment 12th Bn. Service No.19217. Commemorated at Arras Memorial, France, Bay 6. Born 1893. Son of William Green and Emma Green (née Shergold) of Toddington. He worked as a carter on a fruit farm before enlisting. His brother, Rifleman Percival Arthur Green, Kings Royal Rifle Corps also fell, on 14/11/1916 during the Somme battles. Born: Toddington. Enlisted: Cheltenham. Resided: Newtown, Toddington."
