Specially arranged to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the running of the last passenger service on the St Ives to March line. Somersham was one of the stations on this line, which was part of the original Wisbech, St Ives and Cambridge Junction Railway, opened on March 1, 1848. The line was one of the many victims of the short sighted Beeching Report 'The Reshaping of British Railways'.
