First peal in the method 6 .Rung after meeting short for London, Messrs Newman and hayward kindly standing in to make up the band .Rung as a birthday compliment to Inspector Ridgwell , of Saffron Walden , who was unable to stand in , and also on the eve ofthe golden wedding of Mr and Mrs John Sadler ,of Great Tey the former being for many years a ringer at St.Peter ad Vincula Coggeshall . At the conclusion of the peal the band were kindly entertained at the bell Inn by a member of the local company, who,it is hoped, will also during the present year celebrate his golden wedding .
