Rung by the local band prior to the Palm Sunday Service & Procession to welcome Reverend Lorna Brabin-Smith as the new Rector of All Saints Branston, St Andrew’s Potterhanworth and All Saints Nocton. This is Lorna’s first service at Branston as Rector of this Parish after her Service of Institution and Induction took place on 17th March.
Rung also marking the 50th anniversary of the first Sunday Service Ringing following the rededication of the Church on 17th March 1966 after the disastrous fire of Christmas Day 1962.
The band wish to associate long standing local ringer Ron Applewhite with this quarter. Ron (aged 96) was the Branston Tower Secretary in the 60’s and rang on Sunday 20th March 1966, the first Service Ringing following the rededication of the Church on 17th March 1966. He is the only surviving member of the local Branston band from the time of the fire. Unfortunately Ron was unable to come and ring with us this evening on health grounds.
