Rung with the bells half muffled by the local band in memory of Reverend Canon Bryan Barrodale, acting as Honorary Priest here at All Saints from 2006 after he moved to Branston in retirement from Nottinghamshire, who sadly passed away on 29th September 2014 aged 70.
This quarter was rung immediately prior to his Funeral Service and Requiem Mass held at this Church. Prior to the quarter the death knell was rung in the form of the nine tailors and age being tolled on the ‘Announcing Bell’ here at Branston, the fifth. After the quarter and up to the start of the service whole pull and stand was rung with the tenor tolling.
Immediately after the Service as the coffin, clergy and congregation left a 660 of Doubles was rung consisting of 180 whole pull Plain Hunt on five and 480 of Plain Bob Doubles.
The band wish to associate Joe Spencer, local ringer and long standing friend of Bryan’s, with this quarter.
Our thoughts are with his wife Barbara and the rest of his family at this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his sense of humour.
(Rung also for the Lincoln Diocesan Guild)
