Rung with the bells half muffled by the local band on the eve of Remembrance Sunday in memory of all those who have lost their lives fighting for our Country in conflicts past and present, especially during the two World Wars. We will remember them.
Rung especially remembering the following four men, all ringers from this local area who were killed during the Great War.
Kenneth Dykes (died 31st July 1917 aged 19) ringer at All Saints Nocton.
George Henry Cooke (died 20th December 1917) ringer at St. Wilfrid’s Metheringham.
William Pearson Green (died 28th June 1916 aged 25) ringer at St. Wilfrid’s Metheringham.
William Henry Rossington (died 15th April 1918 aged 21) ringer at St. Oswald’s Blankney.
