Rung half-muffled in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Flodden Field (9th September). This was the largest (in numeric terms) battle on British soil, killed a significant proportion of the Scottish nobility (inc. King James IV) and set the stage for the subsequent union of the two Kingdoms.

Berwick is the closest ring of bells to the battle site.
