Rung to the memory of Private Edwin Whiting, who died on 05/11/1916 at the battle of the Somme, aged 27.
The son of Robert and Ellen Whiting of Pulham Market and a member of the Norwich Diocesan Association of Ringers, he enlisted with the Durham Light Infantry 1st/6th Battalion, Service no. 5561, and is commemorated at the Thiepval Memorial, pier and face 14A and 15C.
