Half Muffled Ringing to mark the centenary of the death in the Battle of the Somme of Sergeant John Frederick Pike Lawes
John was 25 when he died, the son of Herbert and Elizabeth Lawes and Husband of Sarah he was born in Edington and lived just along the road at Tinhead where before enlisting he worked as a wheelright.
The ringers were met by Stella Callaway and Josephine Galpin sisters and great nieces of John Lawes
