First away from cover: 1. Rung at the conclusion of the ceremony held at Rainhill War Memorial to remember the Rainhill men killed at the Somme in 1916 and to mark the addition of 17 names to the memorial. These include the following two men associated with St. Bartholomew's Church: Lieut. Osmund Stapleton-Bretherton of the 9th Lancers, killed in action in France on 22nd March 1918. Private Henry Foster of the South Lancashire Regiment who was killed in action in France in 1918. The bells of St. Ann's Rainhill were also rung as the ceremony ended.
