St James Church, Poole. A beautiful Georgian church in an equally beautiful Georgian square just off the quay. The tower contains a peal of ten bells, the back eight cast in 1821 by the acclaimed William Dobson, and augmented to 10 by Mears & Stainbank in 1937. The tenor remains a maiden bell, but despite this, the bells have near true-harmonic tuning, a testament to Dobson's talent.
