Also in memory of Winifred (Winnie) Margaret Bagg Jones 1909 – 2002. Mother of Ben Jones, the current tower captain. She was born on 25th Jan 1909 at The New Inn, Stoke Abbott. She was christened in the church, confirmed there, married there in 1939, her funeral was there in 2002 and she is buried in the churchyard. She always loved to hear the bells on Sundays, as well as the morning curfew bell in the summer. Her brother Louis was captain of the belfry for many years. Winnie always asked if the bells could be rung at her funeral, which they were.
