Rung in memory and celebration of the life of Michael Bridges, friend and local ringer of many years. Mike’s funeral was held earlier today at St Tegfan’s Church, Llandegfan.

Rung half muffled in memory and celebration of the life of Mike Bridges, following his funeral earlier today at St Tegfan’s Church, Llandegfan. Mike was a former ringer and Tower Captain at St Mary and St Nicholas' Church, Beaumaris, and at St David's Church, Glanadda (Bangor). Mike was also an Honorary Life Member of the North Wales Association, and a former lecturer at Bangor University.

This quarter peal was rung by a band including 7 current and former students of Bangor University, as well as the current Tower Captain of Beaumaris.

Additionally, the University’s flag was flown at half mast today, above the Main Arts building, in memory of Mike.

Rung half muffled in memory and celebration of the life of Lynn Roberts, following her funeral earlier today at this church. Throughout her life, Lynn was a valued member of several local bands across the country, including at Beaumaris for many years. She will be greatly missed by her friends, including her fellow ringers at this tower.

Lynn was a former student of Bangor University, where she studied soil sciences. Five of the ringers in this quarter peal are current or former Bangor University students, with this quarter peal also being rung for the Bangor Student Society of Change Ringers.

Each row of rounds (the bells rung in order in a downward scale) was rung to represent one year of the life of the church. Firing is when every bell rings at the same time. This is a traditional way of celebrating a significant event. The 6 bells at Halkyn were fired 30 times, making 180 blows in total. Representatives from Mostyn were at Halkyn to listen to our contribution to their celebrations.
