Rung half muffled in memory of Private Joseph Ainsley. Private Ainsley learnt to ring at Darlington. It is believed he was working as a gardener in Chirk when he enlisted at Wrecsam in the Shropshire Light Infantry. He was killed on January 3rd 1916 and is commemorated on Chirk War Memorial.

Rung half muffled to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Lieutenant John Cragg Dunn, a ringer at this tower who was seriously wounded on 24th March, 1916 near Elois in Belgium. He died on 25th March aged 27 years. His resting place is now in the Military Cemetery at Ljissenhoek.
