Rung in fond memory of Olive Townshend-Rose, mother of this tower's former captain, Gerda Fewster. Olive died on 27th June this year, aged 102. We rang a quarter peal here for her on 7th Feb. 2015, the day after her hundredth birthday. The family held a celebration of her life today, so we rang the same length of the same method with the same conductor and same ringers on the same bells.

Rung in memory of Gunner Francis Henry Anthony, Clyro. Died 12/09/1917 age 34.Royal Garrison Artillery 144th Siege Bty. Service No.121976. Commemorated at Bard Cottage Cemetery, Belgium, Grave IV G 40. Born 1883 and baptised 22/04/1883 at Clyro. Son of Richard Anthony and Mary Anthony of Clyro. One of nine children, he worked as a carpenter before enlisting. Born: Clyro. Enlisted: Unknown. Resided: Clyro.
Prior to the quarter peal the vicar led an act of remembrance and the local ringers rang some call changes, including Michael Anthony the great great nephew of Gunner Francis Anthony.
