Farewell to Rev. Robert Jackson on his last Sunday as Priest in Charge of the Parish of Whitehaven

In thanksgiving for the life of David M Jones who was Ringing Master for many years at Greystoke.

Rung half-muffled in grateful thanks for the ringing lives of Pat and Gareth Evans, who tragically died together on 13th February 2023.

In memoriam. Pat and Gareth Evans, ringers at St Michael’s for over forty years, died in a road traffic accident on 13 February. Their son Richard, and daughter Caroline, both rang on this solemn occasion.

Richard and Caroline’s spouses and their three cousins heard the performance.

Rung before morning service and with our prayers and sorrow, for Gareth Evans, who had been ringing twice a week here (to help our learners, and those of Arlecdon) and for his wife Pat, (also a ringer).

Rung on behalf of the Guild, with grateful thanks and fond memories, on the eve of the funeral of Pat and Gareth Evans, tragically killed in a car accident on 13 February 2023. Whilst we unintentionally met short for a peal of major, it proved poignant that we had two empty ropes for a Guild peal - an activity that would have ordinarily included Pat and Gareth.

Former Harraby ringers were supported by Carlisle Cathedral ringers to ring these bells, in this location, for the last time ever; as once the bells and aerials have been removed the tower is to be demolished.
