Rung in memory of 2nd Lieutenant Tom Onslow KSLI. Killed in action near Arras, France on the 6th January 1917. Age 19 years. Tom's brother, Captain RN Richard F J Onslow of HMS Hermes was killed on 9th April 1942 aged 46 years, when his ship was sunk by the Japanese near Trincomalee.

Rung to celebrate the life of Charlie Smith, aged 87, prior to his funeral on 6th March. Charlie was one of the builders involved in the restoration and rehanging of St Michael's bells in 1951. His name is inscribed for posterity in the concrete used to install the new steel frame.

Rung to celebrate Molly Firth being presented with the Order of St Ethelbert in a service at Hereford Cathedral. The awards mark their great contributions in the life of the diocese and reflect the courage, self-giving and perseverance of St Ethelbert the King, one of the Hereford Cathedral’s patrons. The Bishop of Hereford Presented each recipient with a lapel pin depicting the three crowns from the shield of St Ethelbert, as well as a certificate signed by both the Bishop and the Dean.

Rung in memory of a former Clunbury ringer, Private William Paddock, who died 30/11/1917, age 24, killed-in-action by shell fire. King's Shropshire Light Infantry 6th Bn. Service No.26569. Commemorated at Cambrai Memorial, Louverval, France, Panel 8 and 9. Born 1893. Son of William Paddock and Margaret Paddock (née Roberts) of Yew Trees, Bagley, Ellesmere, Shropshire. In 1911, he was a dairy farmer’s groom, living at Birch Hall Farm, Ellesmere, Shropshire and later he worked at Clunbury Hall for Mr Morris. He enlisted when war broke out and left for France in 1916, he saw much active service (he was on one occasion buried alive for 48 hours). He was invalided home with trench foot earlier in 1917 but later returned to the front.
