To commemorate the 50th anniversary of D-Day and in thanksgiving for the life of Violette Szabo G.C. (‘Carve her name with Pride'), a local girl and member of the wartime S.O.E. She twice parachuted into France behind enemy lines, the last time 2 days after D-Day. After disrupting enemy communications and almost single-handedly an enemy Panzer division, she was Finally captured and was tortured by the Gestapo, but gave away nothing. She was executed at Ravensbrück in Jan 1945, aged 23.

First in the method; 3, and inside; 2. A compliment to Greg Shields, a local ringer, on his 1st Class honours Degree.

First on the bells since rehanging and restoration. The band wish the name of Andrew Colby to be associated with this peal, who was unable to ring at the last moment because of a problems with his kitchen. A get well message to Mrs. Evelyn Powell recovering in hospital from a heart attack.
