25th peal together: 3 and 5. On the 50th anniversary of the first known peal to have been rung on these bells The first peal rung on May 22nd, 1938, was conducted by James P Hyett of Hay-on-Wye, and now 50 years later his great grandson, Andrew J Watkins, of Burghill, conducted the peal. To mark this special event, the peal was sponsored to raise money to replace rotten floor boards beneath the bells, purchase new bell ropes, treat the woodwork and paint the metal parts of the framework, and raised £551.75p
