This peal was arranged and rung as a welcome to the new Rector of Ross, Preb. P. C. Barber, who was inducted to the living on February 8th.

Rung as a compliment to the Rev. P. A. H. Birloy, who has been Vicar of Eardisland for 20 years. He was instituted on June 19th, 1917. All the ringers are local men with, the exception of E. F. Salmons.

Rung to honour the visit of H.M. Queen Mary to Hereford (Queen Mary was the widow of King George V)

RW 1937 p. 534 A :peal of Bob Minor rung at Holmer, Herefordshire, on July 26th,was in honour of the visit of Queen Mary to Hereford. It was also

the quarterly peal for the Hereford District of the Guild and rung by

a ba,nd of Sunday service ringers at Holmer ChUl·ch. ]:n addition, it

was a farewell to Arthur J. Gough, a member of the band, who is

taking up residence at Goodrich.

Mr. George Soley has been a regular member of the local band at Holmer, Herefordshire, for 45 years, and on December 16th a peal of Minor was rung there as a birthday compliment to him. It was also a birthday compliment to Austin Wingate and William Duggan.
