This is the first peal on the bells since they were rehung on ball bearings in a new steel frame. The bells go very well.

First peal and first attempt 1 and 3. First peal as conductor. Rung as a farewell to the Vicar (Rev. J. M. Duncan). All are regular Sunday service ringers.

Hung hull-muffled as a last tribute of respect to the memory of the late Rev. F. Parnell, for over 30 years Rector of Ruardean, who died on January 19th, and was interred at Ruardean on Sunday, January 23rd.

First peal of Major 6.

This peal was rung as a token of respect to the memory of the late Mr. D. Hammond, for many years sexton of the above tower, who passed away at the ripe old age of 90, and was interred in the Parish Churchyard on the Sunday previous.

First peal of Minor on an inside bell 2 and 4.

Rung as a farewell peal to Rev. Canon Chesshire.

First peal inside: 3. J. P. Hyett’s 100th peal, the 100th tower in which he has rung, and the 50th tower in which he has rung a peal, and the 25th tower in which he has called a peal for the Guild. The peals were rung with over 200 different ringers. First peal of Doubles on the bells.

First peal on eight 8. First peal on eight as conductor.

Ringers of 1st, 6th and 8th hail from Trevethin, and were elected members before starting. Ringers of 2nd, 4th and 5th are from Ruardean, 3rd from Mitcheldean, and 7th from Bridstow.

First peal on the bells in four methods, and first in four methods by all the band. Arranged for the Rev. A. S. Hutchinson, who is on holiday at Kimbolton, who was also elected a member of the Guild previous to starting the peal.

First peal 6. Rung on the front six after meeting one short, Joseph E. Rawlings kindly sitting the peal out. J. P. Hyett’s 100th peal for the above Guild, rung in 50 towers in Herefordshire, and each of the surrounding counties, viz., Breconshire, Radnorshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire. He is the first resident ringer to accomplish this, and he has now rung each bell in this tower to a peal.
