Rung after meeting short for Caters. The tenor man having failed to put in an appearance, W. H. Williams volunteered to undertake to ring the bell, with C. Edwards remaining in the tower to rest him if necessary, but his help was not required, which speaks well for the go of the bells.

Arranged and rung as a compliment to Mr Williams on his 69th birthday, it also being his 69th peal.

First peal on the bells, and first of Major in the county. An attempt for the same composition at St. Mary's Church, Brecon, the previous evening, failed, after two hours and 58 mins. ringing. First peal of Major - 1, 5.

Neil Bennett (27/10/2022): this was published as 5072 changes, however there does not appear to be such a composition produced by Pritchard. The correct length was recorded in the personal peal records of William Saunders (Coalbrookdale).
