Neil Bennett: This peal was not published in "Bell News" but it was in the 1910 HDGB Annual Report, page 22. No details were provided of what was rung. William Short (Birmingham) was Guild Instructor at the time, being paid to go round the various towers, teaching bands change ringing. Although he conducted this peal, he didn't actually ring in it.

First peal - 1, 6. First peal as conductor. The above peal was rung on the occasion of the marriage of the Rev. R. H. Gibbon, Minor Canon of Ely Cathedral (and eldest son of the Rev. H. H. Gibbon, Vicar of St. Peter's, Glasbury), to Miss Mary Harris, St. Mary’s Street, Ely, Cambridge. This is the first peal ever rung on the bells by a completely local band and was rung at the first attempt.
