He placed great value on the contribution the bells and bellringers make to the life of the church and we give grateful thanks for his contribution. He was always a great support to his wife Frances, Tower Captain at St Mary’s.

Rung to commemorate the anniversary of the biggest rescue in the RNLI’s history on the 17 March 1907, when the 12,000-tonne liner the SS Suevic hit the Maenheere Reef, near Lizard Point in Cornwall. In a strong wind and dense fog, RNLi lifeboats rescued 456 passengers including 70 babies.
