Rung in memory of Elena Betts, granddaughter of 2 of our ringers Dave and Lynn Betts.
Born 31.03.2016 with extensive, congenital, digestive tract disorder. Despite long stays in hospital and undergoing 3 multi organ transplants, Elena appeared to be just like any other ordinary happy girl. After her 3rd operation in August she succumbed to a viral infection which she was unable to overcome and died on the 30.12.2019. Her life has been documented by her mum Mel in a blog, Elena’s Story, to raise awareness of the importance of blood donations and family discussions about organ donation.

The Tenor was Rung in the Traditional 'Nine Taylors' to mark the passing today, of Gladys Aspland. Gladys was 99 Years old and had been a member of Gedling Church Choir for many Years.
The 'Nine Taylors' is an old, traditional method of communication. In the case of Gladys, it was rung 3x2, to indicate a Lady of the Parish. Then rung 99 times, her age and then a further 3x2.

Prior to the Funeral, to-day of Gladys Aspland.
