In thanks for his life and service, including as Church Warden of Heanor. He was People's Warden - 1967 - 1975 during which time the 6th and 7th bells were recast and all the bells rehung.

Rung to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Queen's visit to Derby to deliver the Letters Patent to Derby City Council, the moment at which Derby became a city. The band would like to associate this peal with Janet Foulds, Pat Halls and Brian Tomlinson who rang these bells on that occasion in 1977 and who have supported the Cathedral band ever since.
