To Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the First Peal rung by an All Ladies Band.
The plan had been to ring the peal at Christ Church Cubbit Town on 12th of July 1987 but due to storm damage the tower was unavailable. Portishead was chosen as a replacement tower as 4 of the original Ladies Band had been ringers at Portishead. Our First attempt to ring the Peal on 11th July 1987 was scuppered when during the 11th part the treble rope broke. Following the example of the original band we did not give up and were able to score the peal at the second attempt.
