Although these bells have been a peal of eight since 1760, this is the first peal of Major ever rung on them by an entirely local band.

1st peal - 1.

This peal was rung on the 15th anniversary of the wedding day of H W Gayton, also in honour of the coming of age of the daughter of the ringer of the fifth. It is the longest peal rung by all except the conductor, and believed to be the longest yet rung in the county. These bells are the heaviest ring of six in Bedfordshire.

First peal on the bells which have recently been overhauled and two recast by Mr. A Bowell, of Ipswich, who is to be congratulated on the 'go' of the bells.

First peal of Doubles - 3.

Rung as a birthday compliment to the Vicar's son, and also to the ringer of the tenor.

The ringers thank the Vicar and Mrs. Pullan for providing tea after the peal.

1st peal of Treble Bob and local ringer - 6.

This is the longest peal on the bells, and by all except the conductor, also the longest of Minor by the association. An attempt was made for this peal on Whit Monday, but failed through the 5th rope breaking after ringing five hours. The treble ringer was elected a member of the Bedfordshire Association previous to starting for the peal.

1st in M and one of the local band - 1. The ringer of the 2nd is from Harrold, 3rd from Olney, 4th from Ridgmont, 5th from Dunstable, 6th from Hammersmith, 7th & 8th from Bedford.

First peal in 4 methods: 1, 3.

Rung with the bells half-muffled as a tribute of respect to Mr Charles Herbert of Woburn, Vice-President of the Association, who was interred on the 14th, and was one of the pioneers of change-ringing in Bedfordshire.

The peal arranged for the ringer of the 3rd, who hails from Cambridge.

Rung with the bells deeply muffled to the memory of Charles Herbert, founder, vice-president and many years secretary of the Bedfordshire Association, who died on the 12th inst., and was interred at Woburn on the 14th inst.

1st peal - 1. 1st peal away from treble - 2. H J Hazell, for whom the peal was arranged, hails from Cambridge.

1st peal of Surprise - 1, 2, 3 & as C. 1st peal of Cambridge on the bells. Rung on the festival of St Michael and All Angels.

1st Cambridge Surprise Minor by all except C.

1st peal and 1st attempt - 1, 5 & 6. 1st away from treble - 3. 1st of doubles - 4.

First peal on the bells.

1st peal of Minor - 1 & 4. 1st peal away from treble - 2. Rung as a golden wedding peal for Wm. West, who has been a ringer at the above church for 65 years, and still rings twice every Sunday for service.

First peal on these bells, which have recently been made six.

1st peal - 2. Rung in honour of the Rev. F M Squibb, who was inducted Rector of the above church on the 11th inst.
