Remembering Captain Dow Gann. He was injured in the D-day landings, returned to Andover in Kent but died within 24 hours arriving home. His family came from Walsall and he was a distant relative of Diana Wilkes.
Also remembering Gordon Howell, a glider pilot who never came back. He may have been one of the pilots who flew over to France at the time of D-Day. Gordon and his brother Howard (with whom Diana rang) were both St Matthews ringers.
