Rung half-muffled to commemorate the life of Sonia Bridgman, who died over Christmas at the age of 50 after a long and brave fight against cancer. She insisted that she didn’t want a funeral, her only request being that Pillaton bells be rung muffled to commemorate her passing. She had fond memories of them being rung open for the wedding to her husband Gary - the joyous beginning and sad ending of a loving partnership.

Rev Dorothy had been a non stipendiary priest serving Helston, Wendron & the wider Lizard peninsula for 27 years only retiring in December, 2024. She had also been a School Teacher, the Chaplain of RNAS Culdrose, associated with the local Church M.U. Helston Air Cadets. Local scouts/ guides & the Bishop of Truro advisor for woman's ministry.
A much loved Helston lady who gave so nuch for others in her life.
