Jenny says: I used to ring in a lot of peals when I first started ringing to gain experience in different methods. My first peal, after 7 attempts to achieve one, was ringing the treble to Plain Bob Royal at Stafford on 19th April 1965. So now St Mary's have acquired the glorious Gillet and Johnson ring of 10 bells from the redundant church at Hanley, I was pleased to be given permission to arrange a peal to mark the 60th anniversary. With 7 of the original ringers no longer with us, and 2 not well enough to ring, I contacted ringers who I have rung peals with in the past to celebrate the occasion. I would like it rung in memory of my husband Frank Beech, who passed away 10 years ago and who arranged and conducted it. Ann Williams would like to be associated with this peal.
